Chose To Be Christians

Christians -To Suffer or Not To Suffer - What's God's Will and What's Not - Know The Truth
By Fred Fishburne

The Bible is very plain in its message on suffering. There are two kinds of suffering:

  • Suffering for evil doing.
  • Suffering for well doing.

The first is not God's will and the second is God's will. God does not want man to suffer for any thing that Jesus redeemed man from through His sufferings as a sacrifice for sins. This includes sickness and disease. God's has promised deliverance through the prayer of faith and the anointing with oil.

James 5:14 states, "Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him."

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another that ye may be healed. The effectual ferverant prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

Repentance is the key to the door of faith. Repentance assures us that we are in faith that our prayers may be effectual and our hearts pure.

Now that it is settled with the scripture that God's does not want man to suffer with sickness to bring him glory, lets look at what the scripture says about suffering in accordance with God's will.

I Peter 4:12-19 gives insight, "Beloved, think in not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. for the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God. And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
